LED Chip Types

SMD LED

SMD LED technology is an advanced successor of an obsolete DIP technology. Diodes are mounted directly onto the surface of a printed circuit board, which means much longer lifespan of the light source compared to DIP. The most common types within SMD technology are SMD 3528 and SMD 5050. The number there indicates chip dimensions and the rule is simple - the bigger chip, the more light intensity.

High Power LED

Diodes based on the technology of High Power LED use higher voltage to create even more luminous intensity. The light can be adjusted with optical lenses so lights with these chips are very suitable for spot lighting. Long lifespan is a matter of course.

COB LED

COB LED is the youngest member of LED Chip family. COB (Chips on Board) means that LED chips are packaged together as one lighting module. The luminous can be then even bigger, heat is easily conducted away, lifespan is long and the light distribution is even.
